Why we love it:
Julia Donaldson undeniably is one of the best young children's authors, and, its no surprise her books are many's favourite and have inspired so many, even the adults. Her books are simply incredible for the little ones to pick up new vocabulary!
Room on the Broom wasn't a story on my booklist for our little boy, to be perfectly honest. I wasn't sure of the storyline involving a witch, neither was I a fan of the illustration. (Ooops I totally judged a book by its cover there!) But when a friend convinced me of it's quality storyline, I gave it a go and was immediately bought over!
Room on the Broom is a hearty tale of a very kind witch! Not only this book teaches about showing kindness to others, and the joy it spreads, it might even inject a few giggles along the way. This is another of our little boy's favourite and at two years old, he asks for it to be read to him from cover to cover, three times in a row! Needless to say, he has also picked up several words from this book alone.
Donaldson's witty and rhythmic lines are second to none and has captured even out little boy's attention since he was 18 months! So if you have a little little one, don't hesitate to try reading any of her titles to your baby! Her clever content has a beautiful ring when read aloud and is sure to captivate those little ears and big minds.
